A Soft Tread in Soft Sand>

At first, skelter, pell-mell plunge of foot.
Sinking into ooze, splattering mud about.
Heavy foot - surging, clambering, wanting climax and fruition.
Leaving a footprint trail, bogged in mud.
A legacy of heavy haste.

Tread softly now the rush has quelled.
With steps more measured, gait of purpose.
With no footprints left to scar desire.
With lightness of touch, absorbing rebound.
With steps adroit, patient, poised, balanced.

Time has slowed,
So, tread softly now.
